History
Ed Savell and John Williams founded the firm in 1952. Since its formation,
Savell & Williams, L.L.P. has maintained the firm premises in the downtown
Atlanta area. In the earliest years, the firm had offices in the Healey Building.
The firm relocated to the Equitable Building in the 1970s. In 1987, as leaders
of a revival of the Fairlie Poplar District, the firm moved back to the Healey
Building as an anchor tenant before spending 10 years in Peachtree Center. We
returned to the Fairlie Poplar District in 2002 with a five-year stint in the
Equitable Building before returning to our current home in the Harris Tower of
Peachtree Center, where the firm has been housed since 2007.
Regardless of its location, the firm has retained what is known to be Atlanta's
oldest continuously used business phone number. We are
proud that our clients continue to contact us today at the same phone number
they did over 50 years ago. Our firm has adapted its technology and changed with
the time, but the core values of our founding partners are still the guiding
principles for the day-to-day management of the firm and its practice today.
